Full Time - Box Office Services Manager
Summary of Major Responsibilities

The Box Office Services Manager leads the Herberger Theater Center’s Box Office, and performs supervisory, professional sales and accounting work pertaining to Guest experience through ticket operations in the Herberger Theater Center Box Office. Work involves collecting and accounting for all funds received from ticket sales and assisting Resident Companies and other users with ticket operations. Technical work is performed in accordance with established accounting procedures, but independent judgment and tact is required in handling unusual situations. Supervises Assistant Box Offices Services Manager and Sales Representatives. Proactively involved in Associates team activities as requested. Relies on experience and judgment to accomplish goals. Reports to Director of Guest Experience. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Responsibilities
Welcomes all performance attendees to HTC as cherished Guests, demonstrating respect, friendliness and professionalism in all interactions.
Ensures successful box office operations through competent supervision and training of Associates; evaluates performance; recommends and implements performance improvement measures and disciplinary actions; interviews and selects employees.
Participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, and priorities for box office operations;
Recommends and implements Box Office Policies;
Establishes procedures for pricing, ordering, counting, and selling tickets;
Makes available accurate, timely pre- and post-event sales reports as needed by Resident Companies and other user groups;
Creates daily ticket sales reports and resolves problems or discrepancies with sales data;
Creates written reports following every event day for management;
Prepares final closeout report for each week of performance and/or the completion of the event;
Eliminates losses to the Center and user groups by managing financial matters including the reconciliation of reports;
Acts as liaison to Ticketing System provider for ticketing issues;
Participates in ticket sales;
Continuously identifies opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures; review with Director of Guest Experience; implement improvements;
Maintains Box Office service levels in a cost-efficient manner; ensures the efficient use of work hours and equipment;
Resolves concerns and complaints from Guests or user groups;
Identifies resource needs;
Participates in recommending plans to increase revenues or decrease expenditures; implement as appropriate.
Prepares annual budgetary recommendations as requested;
Attends and participates in Associates meetings as needed;
Stays current on new trends and innovations in the field of Box Office management;
Prepare bundles of tickets or other material for pickup or mailing;
Represents Box Office to the public;
Maintains knowledge of and educates Associates about all events being ticketed as well as basic information for events at local performance venues;
Ensures the outgoing message on the box office phone line is up-to-date;
Ensures that the outgoing mail is retrieved on a daily basis from the Admin area and readied for pickup by the postal employees;
Ensures timely retrieval of incoming mail from the mailbox;
Actively participates in Development fundraising events as directed;
Performs all tasks to the quality and standards of Center;
Maintains commitment to mutual support;
Respects the professional space of others.

Required Knowledge
• Principles and practices of supervision;
• Principles and practices of positive customer experience;
• Box office management procedures for a performing arts complex;
• Principles and practices of accounting as it relates to a box office operation;
• Computerized ticketing systems;
• Practices and procedures for ordering, accounting for, pricing, and selling tickets to obtain best sales results;
• Familiar with a variety of the theater’s concepts, practices, and procedures.

Required Abilities

• Work cooperatively with other Herberger Theater Center Associates, Resident Companies, other performing companies, and the general public;
• Use a Windows based Personal Computer and use word processing, spreadsheet, internet and e-mail software, and other applications as needed;
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, peers and supervisors;
• Perform a broad range of supervisory responsibilities over others;
• Physical ability to lift 40lbs, and ascend and descend stairs;
• Communicate effectively in the English language in writing or by phone or in person in a one-to-one or group setting;
• Produce written documents in the English language with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar;
• Exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and in making decisions;
• Give verbal and written instructions in an on-the-job setting;
• Prepare detailed work reports in a timely manner;
• Direct volunteers in a respectful and constructive manner;
• Operate a variety of standard office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive arm-hand movements;
• Learn job-related material primarily through oral instruction and observation which takes place mainly in an on-the-job training setting;
• Comprehend and make inferences from written material;
• Remain in a standing or sitting position for extended periods of time.

Additional Requirements
• Position requires availability to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends;
• Other duties as required.

Acceptable Experience and Training
Three years of experience working in box office management and operation and experience supervising box office staff. Experience working to create positive and memorable Guest experience is essential. Experience working in Front of House operations at a Performing Arts Center is a plus. Experience working onstage or backstage at a Performing Arts Center is a plus. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

Part Time - Security Associate
Summary of Major Responsibilities

The Security Associate has the responsibility of monitoring safety and security during performances and other activities at the Herberger Theater Center. Works directly with the Director of Guest Services and Guest Services Managers and reports to the Director of Production Services and Facilities while upholding Herberger Theater Center SHOWTIME standards.

Qualifications
Must has a valid, unexpired Arizona Guard Card.
Very good inter-personal skills are important to the success of this position.
Must be able to work under pressure and with varied schedule.
Must be able to delivery calm, clear, concise information even in emergency conditions.
Computer literacy is required.

Specific Responsibilities
• Observe and report both indoor and outdoor activities.
• Use Verbal Judo skills to dissolve conflicts.
• Report and document all incidents.
• Have communication device to call for back up if needed.
• May involve long periods of time standing or walking.
• Occasionally may be asked to perform other duties to move our mission forward.

Part Time - Environmental Services Associate
Summary of Major Responsibilities:

The Environmental Services Associate has the responsibility of keeping the venue clean during performances and other activities at the Herberger Theater Center. Works directly with the Director of Guest Services and Guest Services Managers and reports to the Director of Production Services and Facilities while upholding Herberger Theater Center SHOWTIME standards.

Qualifications:

Education and/or experience cleaning industrial complexes.
Very good inter-personal skills are important to the success of this position.
Must be able to work under pressure and with varied schedule.
Computer literacy is required.

Specific Responsibilities

• Possess knowledge of how to clean and disinfect public places to prevent the spread of infectious diseases such as COVID-19 (GBAC certification recommended).
• Possess knowledge of process, chemicals and equipment used in everyday cleaning.
• Clean and disinfect all touchpoints in both public and support areas.
• Clean and restock paper/sanitation products in restrooms in both public and support areas.
• Remove trash from areas as requested both inside and outside of venue.
• Sanitize items such as chairs, booster seats and IR devices.
• Occasionally may clean bio-hazardous materials.
• Electronically submit documentation of services completed.

Part Time On-Call (Non-Exempt) - Tech Department
HTC is currently hiring over-hire technicians to assist with the wide variety of events and productions happening in and around the Center. Opportunities include event setup, deckhand, spotlight operator, stagehand, audio, electrician, rigging/ fly rail, etc. Calls may be weekday, night or weekend opportunities, and range from single day calls to show runs. Must be able to lift 35lbs or more, and be 18 years of age or older. Compensation is $17-$19 depending on position for that call. Experience preferred but not required.
